Freelancing through Tough Times

Sometimes it can be difficult to focus on work. The world is on fire or your brother just died; you’re struggling with your health or your spouse just lost their job.

Here are some simple things you can do to help make it through tough times:

  1. Give yourself grace.
  2. Turn off the news.
  3. Keep notifications/intrusions to a minimum.
  4. Focus on smaller block of time, just for ten minutes or half an hour.
  5. Do at least some work you enjoy.
  6. Do basics that keep your business running.
  7. Delegate for a bit.

It’s difficult to focus when the news is bad but work can be a balm, a place where you can do something other than grieve and worry (no matter what you’re grieving or worrying about).
