Description

$120 (Members: $108) | How to perform developmental editing for fiction | 6 lessons | Self-paced | Beginning and Intermediate

Want a little more practice in sussing out developmental problems before you dive into an intermediate or advanced class? DE: Extended Practice is meant to help you build your skills in identifying developmental problems in fiction.

In addition to lessons that describe important developmental concepts, this class offers a wide range of practice materials that help you understand how to identify problems with conflict, narrative arc, character arc, setting, and more.

The class also covers how to use sentence-level edits to solve developmental problems.

Each lesson includes an assignment that helps you practice your developmental editing skills. Answer keys help you evaluate your own responses.

This class is intended for editors who have already taken the beginning self-paced classes DE 1 – 6 as it builds on concepts explored in that series of classes.

The class is entirely online and asynchronous (you don’t have to be in any particular place at any particular time to participate).
